How does it work?

Financial advisers in the UK typically charge for investment and pension advice in one of several ways.

The most common approach is a percentage-based fee on the amount you invest or transfer, usually ranging from 1% to 3%, depending on the size of your investment. If you'd like ongoing support with regular reviews and advice, many advisers charge an additional annual fee, typically between 0.5% and 1% per year.
Alternatively, some advisers work on an hourly rate or agree a fixed fee for their services. Many use a combination of these charging methods to suit different client needs.
Whatever the fee structure, your adviser must agree all charges with you in advance and will only apply them with your explicit consent. Fees are normally deducted directly from your investment or pension fund.

It's worth knowing that since 2013, advisers have been prohibited from receiving commissions from investment or pension providers when recommending their products. This means your adviser is paid solely by you, helping to ensure their advice is neutral and in your best interests. More details on understanding fees can be found on the Money Helper website.

Our Fees

Before starting any aspect of our work, we agree with you the services you would like us to deliver, and we will confirm the cost.
We will enter into a fee agreement with you. In many cases, our fees may be taken directly from your investments or your investment income, if you so wish, we will discuss with you whether or not this is tax efficient and appropriate for your circumstances. For the provision of our financial planning and investment advice services, you can choose how you pay for these services from several options, which can be tailored to suit your needs.
The payment options available to you vary according to the different product types.
Where you receive ongoing advice about an investment or pension product, we will agree a fee, commonly known as an adviser charge. We will tell you if you have to pay VAT and if payable, you will be sent an invoice on completion of the work done for any charges due.

Initial Advice Fee

The initial advice work is based on a tiered charging structure, based on a percentage of your portfolio value.
For portfolios of £150,000 and under, you will be charged at 2.5% of the value of your portfolio.
Anything above this will be charged at 0.5%, up to the maximum of £12,000.
This charge is usually remitted to us directly from your provider, as a deduction from your portfolio, unless agreed otherwise.

Ongoing Service Fee

Should you decide to take advantage of our ongoing service proposition, this will be charged at 0.75% per annum for our Wealth Management service.
This charge is usually remitted to us directly from your provider, as a deduction from your portfolio, unless agreed otherwise.
